Raspberry Rose ice cream (available in non-dairy, too!)

Happy Independence Day! This red, white, and blue patriotic picture is anything but a traditional flavor. At the last tasting party, this flavor was one of the crowd favorites.

I was pleased with the flavor balancing: depending on people's palettes, some thought it tasted predominantly of raspberries, others thought it tasted like drinking a rose's fragrance. The flavor disappeared fast, as each person took scoop after scoop, trying to taste the flavor from another's perspective.

Flavors are like art and music -- your experience with it is colored by your experiences, memories, and perspective.

I was pleased to make a non-dairy version of this flavor so more people can share in the joy! Leave a message at www.facebook.com/icecreamjubilee if you want to try some!

at the beginning...

On January 1, 2010, I made the New Year's Resolution to win a recipe contest. A few months later, I won the Knorr's Chinese New Year Recipe Contest with "Black and White Pearl Shrimp Balls."

For 2011, I decided to launch an "Ice Cream Endeavor." (In quotes because it should be said like one might say, "to infinity and beyooond!").

Because my stomach and jeans puts a limit on how much dairy I can consume, I decided I'd share my ice cream with others.
My ice cream endeavor will allow people to subscribe to receive homemade, small-batch ice cream in exciting flavors.

Stay tuned for pictures of the ice cream and the endeavor!
