Honey Pinenut ice cream reminds me of Tuscany -- like an ice cream version of biscotti. The honey sweetness brings a fresh flavor, while the toasted pine nuts adds a depth, warmth, and crunch. This is definitely a new favorite.

Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch

The taste of hazelnuts was one of my childhood revelations. My mother and grandfather were allergic to them, so we never had hazelnuts or nutella around the house. But the moment I tried my first chocolate-hazelnut flavor combination, I was hooked.



I admit I may have gotten carried away making this batch. I poured a whole Dean & Deluca bag of hazelnuts into the mixture, half of them were finely chopped, half of them in big chunks. I figure the nuts provide protein, and therefore this is a healthy flavor!

If the Land 'o Lakes girl married any of these old guys on the Jim Beam bottle, you'd get this tasty flavor.



This butter pecan wasn't really like the butter pecan I remember eating at Baskin Robbins. First, it is white and not tan. Second, Baskin Robbins didn't put booze in their ice cream. It almost tastes like a nutty french vanilla. Come try a scoop and see for yourself!

Next time I'll add ground hazelnuts to enhance the nutty flavor.

I love the sea foam color of the pistachio ice cream that I had as a kid. For my version of this flavor, I used ground, freshly roasted pistachios in a standard ice cream base. What a flavor explosion! This pistachio ice cream is a not-too-sweet flavor that's perfect for a grown-up palette.
