Orange Pistachio

Natural pistachio ice cream (that's not green with flavoring and food coloring) is a grown-up flavor that's not too sweet. Adding orange zest gives this flavor added brightness.



I can't help but think that this flavor tastes like spring is right around the corner. Admittedly, I'm reading the end of winter into all of my foods and interactions these days.

I love the sea foam color of the pistachio ice cream that I had as a kid. For my version of this flavor, I used ground, freshly roasted pistachios in a standard ice cream base. What a flavor explosion! This pistachio ice cream is a not-too-sweet flavor that's perfect for a grown-up palette.
